This furniture manufacturing business is seeking a Procurement Assistant who can contribute to their success by providing purchasing administrative support, displaying initiative, and confidently engaging with their suppliers. This role is an entry point into a promising career in procurement, with the potential to evolve into a more senior role, responsible for sourcing items used in manufacturing and other consumable items that the business requires.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be working with all functions of the business to ensure that it has everything it requires to run efficiently, this will include; purchasing packaging, paint, consumables, tooling and equipment. To do this you will:

Organise the purchase order process, including matching orders to invoices, chase suppliers, helping to prevent items being out of stock.

Obtain quotes and input data.

Manage optimal inventory levels, helping identify the best stock levels.

Finding best prices, terms and quality.

Issue timely purchase orders.

Assist with stock checking.

Develop supplier relationships.

Required:

Administrative experience with growth potential

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Initiative and problem-solving experience.

Strong organisational and time management abilities.

Confidence with numerical data and accurate data processing

Ability to follow processes and procedures, with a keen attention to detail.

Available to work in-office 9am - 5pm.
Your role will develop to include; market research, meeting with suppliers, negotiation, implementing new business systems and developing the purchasing function as the business develops. The opportunity will develop as quickly as you can learn!
